Climate :

  • Japan has four seasons : Spring (March to May), Summer (June to early-September), Autumn (late-September to November), Winter (December to February). The climate varies depending on the location as the land stretch from north to south. Mid-June to early-July is the Rainy season (mostly cloud and wet), followed by the Typhoon season (peaking in Aug-Sep, with 3-4 landfall yearly).
  • Best Season: The best season to visit Japan would be between April – May, or October – November. Avoid peak period as travel cost goes higher or you may get stuck in heavy traffic.

  • Official currency is Japanese Yen (JPY/円).
  • Currency exchange is available at selected banks and authorized money changers. ATMs are available at Banks, Convenience Store e,g, SevenEleven.
  • Credit Cards (issued in major countries) are available with no handling charge.
  • Tipping is Not a common practice in Japan. If you are staying at high-end traditional Ryokan, however, you may tip to your room attendant.

Language : Official language is Japanese. English is not widely spoken but basic phrases can be understood at hotels and train stations in major cities or at popular tourist sites.

Religions : Buddhism and Shintoism (Japan’s indigenous religion) are the two major religions in Japan. Christians are about 1% only.
