There are many types of budget-friendly accommodations in Japan.

Important Tips when you book room and while you are staying
- Room rates are based on the number of guests, not per room. For example, the same room would charge Y12,000/3pax (Y4,000/pax), Y10,000/2pax (Y5,000/pax), Y8,000/1pax (Y8,000/pax).
- “Single room” is for 1 person only and cannot be shared with others.
- Tipping is rarely practiced in Japan, but might be accepted when you are staying at high-end Ryokan ( 2,000-3,000yen should be enough per stay). Just make sure you place the tip in an envelop, never hand cash directly!
