The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (or Tokyo Tocho 東京都庁 in Japanese) in Shinjuku district, is one of the best places overlooking Tokyo skyline, and is FREE to enter! There are two observatories (North and South Tower) both of which are located on the 45th Floor.
Opening Hours:
– South: 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (until 10:30 p.m. on the 2nd/4th Monday of each month)
– North: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
*Closed on the following day of public holidays, 2nd/4th Monday(South), and 1st/3rd Tuesday(South).
Getting There
– 3min walk from Tocho-mae Station (Toei Subway – Oedo Line)
– 10min walk from Nishi-Shinjuku Station (Tokyo Metro – Marunouchi Line)
