Nationals of visa-free countries/regions can enter Japan without visa.
Others need to apply for short-term visa at the competent Japanese consular office abroad.
Register Visit Japan Web ( App or Webpage )
ALL foreign travellers are required to register their immigration/customs information via Visit Japan Web prior to departure.
